Super Falcons qualify for Olympics for the first time in 16 years

Nigeria defeated South Africa 1-0 overall to qualify for the Summer Olympics.

After Rasheedat Ajibade’s penalty goal in the first leg of the qualifications in Abuja last Friday, the Super Falcons were able to secure one of Africa’s tickets to the women’s football event of the Paris Olympics with today’s goalless draw in South Africa.

It has been sixteen years since Nigeria’s Super Falcons made it to the Olympics.
