Nigerian comedian and skit creator Chukwuebuka Amuzie, better known by his stage name Brain Jotter, has responded to rumors that his 1983 hit song “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo” by Mike Ejeagha might be exploited.
The song is a classic that gained new life recently thanks to a viral dance challenge that Amuzie started.
In a raw-emotional video, Brain Jotter described his emotional visit to the home of iconic highlife musician Mike ‘Gentleman’ Ejeagha. The touching video shows the renowned singer overwhelmed with emotion and shedding tears of joy as Brain Jotter and his entourage pay tribute to his temeless song.
In response to the conjecture and responses that have surrounded the dancing challenge, Brain Jotter provided a detailed account of the visit. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to individuals who raised concerns about the potential exploitation of Ejeagha’s song.
The Skitmaker vehemently stated that he understands and values their legitimate concerns, underlining their rightful desire for Ejeagha to be recognized and compensated for his decades of musical excellence.
He made it very clear that, in the grand scheme of things, he received no monetary benefit from the song. The comedian expressed sincere gratitude for the immense delight and excitement that the challenge has brought.
