In a rather unorthodox way, Grammy Award-winning African musical prodigy Burna Boy has announced the release of a new album.
A new album is expected to debut in a day, the ‘last last’ crooner announced on his X (formerly known as Twitter) page.
With just three words—”Album dropping 12am”—he imparted the information quickly and without fanfare. In light of Burna Boy’s last album release, the announcement appears to be a practical joke around now.
With much inconsequence, he made this specific announcement. It also raises the question of whether the timing of his record release—on Tuesday—is intentional or unintentional.
Fans however, seems so enthusiastic about the announcement judging by their reactions. Someone retweeted with great excitement “So finally some good music dropping tonight 12am. Another fan asked the African Giant what they have done to deserve such an unexpected benevolence from him and humorously ended the tweet with “We will not rest tonight”
Recall that Burna Boy recently dropped a banger in kick starting the 2024 as he released a hit single ‘Higher’ which he used to express his profound gratitude for the success he has enjoyed in his musical career. In the music video, he took trip back to his hometown of Port Harcourt.
